Chapter 8

When I and met up with Serena at the Red Lobster I almost didn’t recognize her. She had a short Rianna haircut with dyed tips, which was unusual because she usually wore long weaves. She was dressed elegantly in a tan Chanel skirt with the matching bag and pumps. “Damn did somebody pull a Cher and Dion in here?’ I asked her referring to the movie ‘Clueless’.

“Yeah girl, Alex wants me to go au natural and this was the closest he’ll ever see me natural. I don’t got hair like you my shit thick; I need my perms so I just got it cut short. You like it?”

I looked at her new do and smiled, “Yeah its fly cousin real fly… on you.” I joked not really feeling her new do. I really wasn’t understanding why she was changing herself for a nigga. I wouldn’t tell her that. Serena was the type that took shit too personal and would run home crying about it. She waited for my approval so I approved. “It’s nice, where you get it done at?” “I went to Hair Trends out New Castle some chick named Khadijah did it.”

“Oh well, she did a good ass job, come on lets go sit at the bar I need a drink or two.”

Serena and I ended up getting drunk as skunks at the bar and were yelling all types of obscenities when a pretty brown skin chick with a small cute shape took a seat next to us. Serena gave her the once over and tapped me, “What Serena?” I snapped so ready to go. Those Margarita’s had caught up to me and I wanted nothing more than to go home. I had two missed calls from Emilio and I knew he would be pissed when I finally answered. “Shut up cow isn’t that Orlando walking in the door?” Orlando was my sister’s husband and baby daddy of four years, I looked up to see if my sister was behind him but she wasn’t. I was about to call out to him when I noticed the chick who was just sitting next to me was now in Orlando’s face hugging and kissing on him. “Oh shit!” Serena said in a drunken stupor. I was just as shocked, never in a million years did I imagine that Orlando would cheat on my sister, but then I realized that my aunt Tania was right; all men cheat. Hell, Emilio was cheating on his wife with me so the proof was in the pudding. Amelie walked around like her shit didn’t stink; all the while she had a cheating ass husband now aint that about a dumb bitch? I thought about my next move silently, suddenly I was sobering up. I knew that there was no way in hell that I was going to let his ass get away with playing my fucking sister. Fast on my feet, I grabbed my drink and walked over to him and poured it all over his curly head.
